Nancy's Notes - August 29, 2008
Please forgive the mess when you enter the library. There’s a familiar saying, ”pardon our progress”, and that’s what the staff tries to remember while we are busy packing. We are still selling a lot of discarded books and will continue to do so until we are out of the building.
We have had several groups volunteer to help us in our relocation. The Lion’s spent one evening painting a couple of months ago. They were ready last Monday to take their brushes in hand once again and put some finishing touches on our temporary site. The Rotary showed up on Monday to take two truck loads of items to the Methodist Church for storage. We appreciate their help carrying and church for letting us inconvenience them for the next year. The Ruritans helped us get the floors prepared for final finishing touches. Thanks to all in the community who have helped us with their time, energy, and financial or moral support.
I am not planning on book reviews for the next week or so as I don’t even know how easily it will be to find the item. We would like to ask our interlibrary loan users if they could hold off their requests until we open once again in mid-September. We don’t have a gage to know when materials will show up and we don’t want to misplace the materials of other libraries.
Remember our new location is across from Casey’s on highway #3 East. Depending on how long you’ve lived here it is the Food Giant/ Bill’s Clover Farm/ Gramstad Building. We will close at our current site at 5:00 p.m. on September 6 and open in our new location at 10:00 a.m. September 18. Until then we are open between noon and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
