Nancy's Notes - December 20, 2012
We will have special holiday hours in the next two weeks. The library will be closed on December 24 and 25. We will open once again at noon on December 26. There will also be special hours on New Years Eve. We will close at 4:00 that day and open again at noon on January 2.
John Sandford’s, “Mad River”, is the latest in his Virgil Flowers series. Jimmy Sharp, Becky Welsh, and Tom McCall thought of themselves as Bonnie and Clyde with a sidekick. The teenagers have chips on their shoulders and loaded guns. They begin their killing spree when they shoot a girl during a robbery, the second murder was a man whose car they needed, and the third and fourth were personal. After that, why not keep going? As their crime spree cuts through Minnesota, Flowers joins the army of cops trying to run them down.
Danielle Steel is back with, “The Sins or the Mother”. Olivia Grayson is an enormously successful businesswoman who missed out on much of her children’s lives while she built her empire. Now Olivia faces the past, tries to balance the present and make amends while still running her successful business. As a way of making up to them for lost time, Olivia spends months each year planning a holiday that everyone in her family will enjoy. This summer she has arranged a dream trip in the Mediterranean on a yacht. Her gesture every year is to express her love for her family and show her regret at missing the important dates during her children’s younger years. But as with any family gathering there are always surprises and no matter how glamorous the setting, things don’t always turn out as one hopes.
Come in and see us: Monday through Wednesday between noon and 8:00 p.m. or Thursday through Saturday between 10:00 and 5:00.
