Nancy's Notes - April 24, 2014

For those who aren’t big readers we have other options for you. One of our most popular formats is our DVD collection. We own between 800-1000 movies. There is no charge for the service unless they are returned late. All movies have a two day check-out. There are several fairly new releases that might be of interest, they include: The Book Thief, 12 Years a Slave, Gravity, The Butler, Frozen, Freebirds, Saving Mr. Banks, American Hustle and Catching Fire.     If you are interested in a good laugh you may enjoy Last Vegas or Meet the Millers. Two biographical films we have include Lincoln and 42 the Jackie Robinson Story.
One of the series that has exploded on IPTV is Downton Abbey. We currently own the first three seasons and plan on purchasing the fourth season. This has been a big hit with patrons.
I don’t always like to see a film immediately after I’ve read the book because they always make changes the to story. We own many movies that also available at our library in written form. These include: the Bourne series, Soul Surfer, Life of Pi, The Help, Harry Potter, Left Behind, The Secret Life of Bees, and The Best exotic Marigold Hotel just to name a few.
Next time you complain that there is nothing to watch on television, you might want to stop in and grab a movie and pop some corn.
Our books on CD are also another popular item. These are great if you commute for your job, are traveling, or maybe want something to listen to while working around the house.
Stop in to try these or any of our other services: Monday through Wednesday between noon and 8:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
