Sometimes you need a book but you can’t make it to the library.  Whatever is a person to do?  Well you get on a computer, go to the Clarion Public Library homepage, and click on Bridges!  All you need is your patron number from your library card to sign in and start reading from your Kindle, IPad or other tablet device.  In addition, Bridges also gives you access to audio books and videos.  You can also download and use the Libby app on Android, IOs and Microsoft devices to access audio and eBooks as well.  And if you need help, call us at the library or take one of our flyers with instructions.

New at the Library

Murder Games by James Patterson and Howard Rougham.  Dr. Dylan Reinhart is a bestselling Ivy League author focusing on criminal behavior.  Now a copy of his book and a threatening note have turned up at the scene of a gruesome murder.  Dylan is drawn into the hunt for a serial killer alongside NYPD detective Elizabeth Needham.  The hunt is on for the killer known only as “The Dealer”.

Use of Force by Brad Thor.  In the wake of a raging storm in the Mediterranean Sea, the body of a high-value terrorism suspect is recovered.  This reappearance concerns the CIA, enough to mobilize Navy SEAL turned covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath.   Hired on a black contract Harvath will face deadly opposition at every turn.  

The Duchess by Danielle Steel.  Angelique Latham, daughter of the Duke of Westerfieldwas raised close to her father and educated to manage his grand estate.  However, when her father dies her brothers cast her out into an uncaring world.  With only her wits and what little money her father managed to give her, Angelique makes her way to Paris and a life on the edge of scandal.

 

Happening at The Library

Our summer reading program is in full swing so don’t forget to fill our those summer reading logs.  The more you read the more chances to win prizes there are.  Middle School and High School students can enter to win I-Cubs tickets for each book they read!

RAD Zoo July 10th at 10 AM.  Reptile and amphibian discovery zoo will be at the Clarion Public Library.

Seasons of Wright County photo contest.  Going on now through February 28th.  We are looking for pictures that showcase the beauty of Iowa in any and all seasons.  Complete contest rules and details  are available at the Clarion Public Library and our website.

Don’t forget to check our website for a whole host of online resources.  Downloadable audio and e-books from Bridges.  Looking for magazines?  Check our Zinio.  There are e-book resources for K-12 students as well as Ebsco Host reference materials.  And we also have newspaper archives available online.
