Check it out @ The Library

Tuesday, July 25th at 2pm, in honor of Harry Potter Books turning 20 years old, kids are invited to the magical world of Harry Potter at the Clarion Library as part of our Summer Reading Program. They will get to make wands, battle a dementor, go to potions class and other magical activities. If anyone has any black graduation gowns we could borrow for the day it would be appreciated.

New at the Library

"If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look on My Face" by Alan Alda. Starting with his hosting of PBS’s Scientific American Frontiers, Alda has been on a journey to discover new ways to help people communicate and relate. Taking inspiration from cutting edge science to classic acting methods, Alda uses his own experiences to boil things down for the rest of us. Using his wry voice and wisdom Alan Alda explores how we can better understand and communicate with each other.

"Dragon Teeth" by Michael Crichton. Based on the rivalry between paleontologist Cope and Marsh, this book explores the scientific pillaging that would later be known as the Bone Wars. In 1876, recent Yale graduate William Johnson heads to the west to win a bet and lands in the middle of a scientific rivalry and discoveries of historic proportions.

"Single Minded" by Lisa Daily. Ever since she first met her future husband on the first day of kindergarten, Alex has planned and plotted the course of her life with exacting precision. Life is great; a fantastic house, careers they love, life seems perfect. Except Alex’s husband has been keeping a rather large secret. Now Alex’s perfectly planned life is a smoldering ruin and her biological clock is more of an alarm klaxon. Can she navigate rebuilding her life and the insanity that is modern dating?
