New on the shelf
"In The Days of Rain" by Rebecca Stott. Rebecca’s father was dying, and his final wish was for her to help him write the memoir he’d been fighting with for years. The story of their family, who’d been part of a fundamentalist cult for generations. However, each time he got to a certain point the memories would overwhelm him and he couldn’t continue.  "In The Days of Rain" gathers the threads of her father’s story, and Rebecca’s own, to tell the family’s story of surviving the cult and breaking away.
"Murder in Mayfair" by D.M. Quincy. The year is 1810, and Atlas Catesby, adventurer and wayward son of a baron, is looking to continue his world travels. All thoughts of roaming are put on hold though, when he stumbles upon a young woman being sold off to the highest bidder by her own husband. Atlas purchases the woman to save her from potentially less scrupulous bidders, and lands right in the middle of family drama and the murder of the husband.
"Radical Candor" by Kim Scott. Great bosses have a strong relationship with their employees, and three basic principles guide it: make it personal, get stuff done, and understand why it matters. Radical Candor is for those exhausted or bewildered by management and written for bosses and managers.  Drawn from firsthand knowledge filtered into easy to understand lessons focused on success while retaining integrity and humanity.
