"The Cuban Affair" by Nelson DeMille. "Haunted" by James Patterson. "The Heart’s Invisible Furies" by John Boyne.

New on The Shelf
"The Cuban Affair" by Nelson DeMille. Daniel MacCormick, Mac for short, served five years in the Army as an infantry officer. And to show for it; the Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, a load of scars and a rather sizeable bank loan on his boat. Now Mac finds himself meeting with a lawyer tied deeply to an anti-Castro group and looking to hire his boat for a fishing tournament to Cuba. Mac has a bad feeling about this, but money talks and soon the trip is underway. How do a Cuban exile, a beautiful woman, and sixty million U.S. dollars factor into this fishing trip? Mac is going to find out, whether he wants to or not.
"Haunted" by James Patterson. After a series of crises pushing his family and himself to the edge, Detective Michael Bennet is looking forward to a vacation. Choosing a seemingly idyllic small town in the Maine woods, Bennett feels he can finally relax. However, when kids start disappearing and bodies turn up in the woods, Detective Bennett can’t turn down the case.
"The Heart’s Invisible Furies" by John Boyne. Cyril Avery has been told many times by his adoptive parents that he’s not a real Avery, and that begs the question of just who he is. Born out of wedlock to a teenage mother, adopted by an eccentric Dublin couple, friends with the glamourous and dangerous Julian Woodbead, Cyril has many influences on his life but only he can define who he is. Finding himself, his home, his country, will take a lifetime.
