"Proof of Life" by Judith A. Jance. "The Right Time" by Danielle Steel. "Wicked Deeds" by Heather Graham.

New on The Shelf
"Proof of Life" by Judith A. Jance. Retirement seemed like a good idea to J.P. Beaumont, until he had all that free time pressing down on him. However all of that goes out the window when his nemesis, retired Seattle crime reporter Maxwell Cole, dies in an “accidental” fire. Now Beau is being dragged out of retirement and into the case at the behest of the deceased himself. Past action and old grudges can still be dangerous in the present, especially when operating outside the familiar constraints of the law.
"The Right Time" by Danielle Steel. After being abandoned by her mother, Alexandra Winslow bonds with her father over the mysteries they read together. Soon Alex begins writing her own stories, eventually progressing to dark and complex crime stories reflecting her skill, imagination and a talent beyond her years. When her father dies, Alex finds herself taken in by the nuns of a local convent and encouraged to continue developing her gift. However with success comes trouble, and living a double life as Alex
the talented young woman and Alexander Green the mysterious and brilliant writer puts double the pressure on her.
"Wicked Deeds" by Heather Graham. Historian Vickie Preston and Special Agent Griffin Pryce are on their way to their new home in Virginia, with a brief detour for a stop in Baltimore. But when a body is discovered in the basement of an Edgar Allan Poe themed restaurant, their romantic weekend takes a back seat. The FBI’s paranormal team is dispatched to the scene as the body count rises and mysteries keep building. The case begins to echo the works of Poe, and if Vickie and Griffin can’t unravel the mystery their life together may end before it truly starts.
