New on The Shelf
"Nighthawk" by Clive Cussler. Book 14 in the NUMA Files series. National Underwater Marine Agency, or NUMA, are the ones to call on when the job is too much for anyone else. When an experimental aircraft with a deadly payload goes missing over the South Pacific, Kurt Austin and the NUMA team must locate it before it falls into the hands of Russia or China. From the Galapagos Islands to South American jungles all the way to an icy mountain lake straight out of prehistory, it’s a race to reclaim the dangerous cargo
of the X-37 before it can cause a global catastrophe.
"Beyond ADHD: Overcoming the Label and Thriving" by Jeff Emmerson and Robert Yehling. Offering a blending together Emmerson’s own personal story of his ADHD diagnosis and new medical, scientific, and societal explanations and tools for living with and managing the condition. Emmerson puts forth a fresh look at what we call ADHD and both how and why it is diagnosed and why those diagnoses have increased by 50% in the last 10 years. Alongside this is a new path of dealing with the symptoms and
individualized treatment needed to better suit the individual and help them to lead their lives as they
see fit.
"Once and for All" by Sarah Dessen. Louna has seen it all in the wedding business. Many summers working for her mother’s wedding planning business has honed her cynicism regarding “happily ever after” to a fine point. Now that she is being pursued by Ambrose, a serial dater used to getting his way, that’s not about to change. Romance is all well and good, but can Louna change her mind about it?
"Knits in a Day" by Candi Derr. There are times you realize you need a hat or a scarf, and you need it right now. This is the book for those times, filled with knitting designs that are high on style and low on time. Hats, scarfs, mittens and plenty of other quick projects for the busy knitter.
