"Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng. "A Stranger in the House" by Shari Lapena. "Grant" by Ron Chernow.

"Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng. In the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights, everything is planned, orderly, and normal. Resident Elena Richardson almost embodies this spirit, living a by the rules life.  Then Mia Warren drops into the community like a rock dropped into a still pond, creating waves throughout the neighborhood. When Mia and her daughter end up renting a house from the Richardson family, two groups draw together as friends. However, rising tensions in the neighborhood and unanswered questions from Mias’ past may just tear the two families apart.
"A Stranger in the House" by Shari Lapena. Tom and Karen Krupp have a nice home in upstate New York and a comfortable and happy life together. At least until Tom comes home to an empty house and a missing wife. The police let Tom know Karen was in an accident and is now in the hospital with a concussion and various scrapes, and she claims to have no memory of why she seemed to be fleeing from something or why she crashed. Now the police are suspicious, Tom is just trying to help, and Karen is living in fear of who is out to get her.
"Grant" by Ron Chernow. Pulitzer Prize winning biographer Ron Chernow returns with an in depth look at a complicated and misunderstood man, Ulysses S. Grant. Prior to the Civil War, Grant had resigned from the army in disgrace and floundering in unsuccessful business ventures. During the war however, Grant rose through the ranks, cementing himself as a strategic genius and President Lincolns’ most trusted general. Plagued by scandal in his professional life and a personal battle with alcoholism, Grant was both lauded and vilified throughout his life. Chernow brings a new depth and understanding to the man Walt Whitman described as “nothing heroic…and yet the greatest hero.”
