Check It Out @ The Library- April 5, 2018

"Magpie Murders" by Anthony Horowitz. "Green Sun" by Kent Anderson. "The Legacy" by Yrsa Sigurdardottir.

New On the Shelf

Green Sun by Kent Anderson.  Between his tour in Vietnam and time as a cop in Oregon, Hanson was sure he had seen the worst humanity could offer.  He was less sure of that after joining the police department in Oakland, California.  Unlike the other officers, Hanson chooses to live in the area he patrols and do his best to serve the people of East Oakland.  Facing prejudice and hate on both sides, Hanson struggles with his duty to the people and to himself.

The Legacy by Yrsa Sigurdardottir.  Newly minted Detective Huldar is on the case and in over his head.  Facing a murder investigation with few clues and only one witness, the victim’s seven-year-old daughter, found in the room where her mother died and not talking.  Huldar has no choice but to call on a psychologist to come talk to the girl, but Freyja has little trust in the police and even less in Huldar.  However, Freyja will do whatever she can to help the girl and keep her safe.  Now the killer is leaving strange clues that build to tell an even stranger story.
