New On the Shelf

I’ve Got My Eyes On You by Mary Higgins Clark.  Teenage parties when the parents are away don’t usually end in murder, but when 18 year old Kerry Dowling is found at the bottom of the family pool, the party is over for everyone involved.  Suspicion first focuses on the boyfriend, they did have a bitter and loud argument at the party after all.  Then again, the 20-year-old neighbor was quite upset he wasn’t invited to the party.  There may even be someone who has avoided notice so far.  Regardless, Kerry’s older sister Aline has made it her mission to help the Prosecutor’s Office to find the truth, even if it puts her own life on the line.

Let Me Lie by Clare Mackintosh.  Caroline Johnson ended her life one year ago, the suicide planned to match her husband’s just months before.  Her daughter, Anna, struggles with the loss and meaning of it all, suspecting there may be more to things.  With a baby of her own, Anna digs into her families past and the deaths of her parents, looking for answers to questions she never dared to ask.  Was it suicide, was it murder, or will it matter?  Anna may find that some questions should never be answered.

The High Tide Club by Mary Kay Andrews.  Josephine Bettendorf Warrick is an eccentric heiress with millions in the bank and a sprawling remote island home.  So when Brooke Trappnell is summoned to Talisa Island, her first question is why her?  The answer of a legal matter confuses Brooke, she may be an attorney, but Mrs. Warrick has long had the services of a prestigious Atlanta law firm.   Over a series of meetings, Josephine tells a story of old friends and secrets, betrayal and unsolved murder.  Brooke is given the task of safeguarding her island and legacy, and reuniting the heirs of her old friends, bringing them all to Talisa for a reunion of women who’ve never met before.
