New On the Shelf

Feared by Lisa Scottoline.  Mary DiNunzio and Bennie Rosato are shocked when they are slapped with a reverse sex discrimination lawsuit, and doubly so when their one male employee sides with the three men filing the suit.  To make matters worse the lawyer for the plaintiffs’ is Nick Machiavelli, a rival lawyer who has lost to Mary in the past and is now out to not just win but also destroy the law firm of Rosato & DiNunzio.  When the case turns deadly, Machiavelli circles like a shark scenting blood in the water and Mary and Bennie must solve a murder, defend their firm, and keep an enemy from destroying all they have worked to build.

Juror #3 by James Patterson and Nancy Allen.  Fresh to the Mississippi Bar and new to the town of Rosedale, Ruby Bozarth never expected to be dropped into the position of defense counsel for a murder case that could tear the town to pieces.  A college football star returned home after an injury ended his career has been accused of the murder of a woman from one of the town’s oldest families.  The prosecutor is counting on Ruby’s lack of experience to do most of his job for him, but Ruby is determined to see justice prevail no matter what.  As tension mount and battle lines are drawn, another murder will forge unusual alliances and may just tip everything into chaos.

Let Me Be Like Water by S.K. Perry.  Twenty-something and sitting alone on a beach in Brighton, Holly can’t seem to figure out what to do with her life now.  After the death of her boyfriend, she is now alone and without a clue of how to fill the void in her life, a new place was supposed to begin a new chapter in her life.  However, after meeting Frank, a retired magician, part-time baker and book club host, Holly finds herself adopted into a new circle of possible friends.  Nothing in her life now is anything close to what she thought she was looking for, but maybe that’s just what she needs.
