New On the Shelf

Celtic Empire by Clive Cussler.  Strange events are occurring across the globe.  A crash in Detroit’s waterways turns deadly.  Raiders attack archeologists working at a historic site on the Nile.  U.N. scientists looking into deaths in El Salvador are all killed.  Could a single thread of history tie these events together?  Dirk Pitt seeks to unravel the tangled web of mystery and violence, following the three thousand year old trail of an Egyptian princess.  Starting on Egyptian sands, crossing Ireland, and deep into the lochs of Scotland, Pitt chases a secret that could alter the future of humanity.

The Girls at 17 Swann Street by Yara Zgheib.  Anna worked hard at being a professional dancer, even if it meant sacrifice and discomfort.  Swept off her feet by the man of her dreams, she leaves Paris to follow him to Missouri but soon find herself alone with nothing but her fears to keep her company.  Crushed under the weight of depression and anorexia, Anna becomes an eighty-eight pound shadow of her former self.  When she finally seeks help, she is admitted as a patient to 17 Swann Street, a home for women seeking help with life threatening eating disorders.  Together, these women will fight their diseases, with strength and mutual support.

No Exit by Taylor Adams.  Darby was expecting to be in Utah with her dying mother, not stuck at a Colorado rest stop because of a blizzard.  Darby can handle being stuck with four total strangers, but not being able to get a signal to call home drives her back into the parking lot to try to make the call.  Her search for cell signal lead her to a terrible discovery, in the back of the van next to her is a little girl locked in an animal crate.  With no cell phone, no landline, and no way out on the impassible roads, Darby must find a way to save the girl and herself, while figuring out just which one of the others is the kidnapper.
