One Small Sacrifice by Hillary Davidson.  Even after a year, NYPD detective Sheryn Sterling still has misgivings about the death of a young woman.  Even though her death was eventually ruled a suicide, Sheryn thinks that the woman’s friend was somehow involved.  Alex Traynor was a wartime photojournalist, and currently suffering the effects of PTSD, was likely there the night Cori died and the circumstances have never sat right with Sheryn.  Now Alex’s fiancée has disappeared and that places him at the top of the suspect list for Sheryn.  However, when Sheryn starts digging into the disappearance and Cori’s death, nobody seems to be telling the same story about either and the links between the two could be the key to solving both.

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary.  It seems like a simple solution, Tiffany needs a place to live and Leon needs the money.  Tiffany works days and Leon works at night.  Two people can share a one-bed apartment if their schedules mean they’re never there at the same time.  But when you factor in needy clients, obsessive ex-boyfriends, a wrongly imprisoned brother, and the fact that they have never actually met each other, complications are bound to arise.  Normal doesn’t necessarily perfect when it comes to home life, and after all rules are meant to be broken.

Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner.  With their roles in life seemingly set by their childhood in 1950s Detroit, sisters Jo and Bethie look to be destined for certain paths in life.  Jo the bookish tomboy, ready to rebel against the injustices of the world.  Bethie the pretty good-girl, using her beauty to reach for her dreams of stardom.  Through the turbulence of free love, Vietnam, and Woodstock the sisters lives diverge from the expected.  Bethie races headlong into the counterculture movement, a free spirited wild child with no inclination to settle down.  Jo moves to Connecticut, a respectable young mother slowly watching the world pass her by.  Both sisters feel the world they’ve ended up in is far from the one they wanted, now they just need to figure out how to get there.
