New Large Print

The Brewer of Preston by Andrea Camilleri.  Vigata’s rather stubborn population is in an uproar about things, like the unification under the Kingdom of Italy and the new Prefect for the town named by the Italian government.  Eugenio Bortuzzi is nothing but a pompous mainlander bent on shoving his pedestrian opera down their throats.  In addition, if this rowdy bunch of Sicilians have anything to say about it, the opening night will be one to remember.

The Trouble with J.J. by Tami Hoag.  Genna knows all she need to about her next-door neighbor, J.J. Hennessy is tall, handsome, and thinks he is God’s gift to women.  His all night barbecue parties and lawn flamingos are a serious disruption of Genna’s peaceful summer away from teaching, and that will not stand.  But underneath it all, J.J. may just be a man worth the effort regardless of how much she wants to deny it.

Return to Red River by Johnny D. Boggs.  Orphaned in a wagon train ambush as a boy and adopted by Thomas Dunson, hero of Red River, Mathew Garth is back on the trail twenty years later.  With his own sons at his side, Mathew is leading a desperate cattle drive from Texas to Dodge City.  However, there is danger on all sides, from deadly storms and rustlers to infighting within the Garth family.

Murder at Westminster Abbey by Amanda Carmack.  In 1559 Elizabeth is set to be crowned Queen of England and wants her personal musician Kate Haywood to play for the festivities.  The new royal court is a far cry from the countryside where Kate began playing for the new Queen, and intrigue is a way of life there.  When redheads similar in appearance to Elizabeth begin turning up dead, Kate finds herself on the trail of a killer out for royal blood.

Things I Never Told You by Beth K. Voght.  Keeping her past, her family, and the memory of her twin sister’s death at arm’s length has been what kept Payton going.  A partner in a successful party planning business, Payton has been doing fine.  At least until she’s called up to work on her sister Jillian’s engagement.  Now surrounded by the family she has worked so hard to keep away, old wounds are opened and a new crisis will either reunite the family or drive them apart for good.
